A long, long time ago there was a girl who was very interested in technical things and activities. She lived with her mother and little sister. And since there was no "man" in the picture in this family, it was this girl who was given the responsibility for such things. This built up interest in her for technical activities. This girl, it's me :)
I remember my first encounter with the game world, it was a neighbour girl who had a hand-held "Donkey Kong". Sometimes, I try`d it, and guess if I wanted one of these .... But no, I did not get it. At primary school I was once home to a girl that had Commandore 64. We played a war game with tanks and men, at something like a cassette player. Someone who can remember what the game is called? Guess if I wanted one of these ... But no, I did not get it ...
In the youth school, I used to play soccer with a boy who had a Nintendo.
Like this one:

We played "Super Mario and Duck Hunt”. Guess if I wanted one of these ...
This Christmas I'll never forget, for I was given my first owned console. The whole family had blisters on the thumb after playing the game Super Mario. And mom had nightmares about the big turtles that came and took her :). I was so proud of my Nintendo.
At the end of secondary school, I was familiar with some older boys who had Amiga 500 Here we played with a computer that had floppy disks. And the games I remember best from that time are "Giana Sisters, Test Drive, Pang and Lemmings". Anyone remember more games from that time?
The next memorable machine that comes with the list was when I had left home and met my husband. We bought a computer for Nkr 20,000 in 1995. Pentium 75. We shared the same interest in the gamingworld. One of my favorite games from that time I almost do not even dare to write ...
Phantasmagoria, a horror game with awesome scary videos. But it was fun, wonder if you can get it today and play it ... Anybody who know?

From there I stood on my own two feet and was able to decide what I would spend money on, and computer and games was a major priority. Playstation 1 was obtained when it arrived, and already when our first-born girl came into the world 11 years ago, she became a happy owner of a Playstation 2 :). Maybe a excuse to buy video game for ourselves, but we were satisfied ... Need for Speed, Driver, and Crash Bandicoot was good winner`s for a game night.
Now, in what is called "The adult life" we have for 1 ½ years ago acquired our PlayStation 3 and Wii came in the house last weekend. I still have time barriers in her arms after fierce battles in tennis and boxing on WiiSports. :)
We have two girls, 5 and 11 years old. Both grow in an environment where they can get the opportunity to play, and they are also players :). In our home we have Playstation 2 and 3, 2 Nintendo DS, 3 laptops, 2 desktop PC and Wii-consol. They must even be limited in relation to how much they can play. For they can quickly dream away and play for a long time. Media says you have to limit the gameplay, but MUST we do that? Is`nt it good, now that there are so many games that give children and young people new skills and just let them play?
Now I have to go take me a set of bowling on the Wii before it is evening in the house :). And now that the kids have gone to bed, I can play completely for myself :).
Sweet!! Its nice 2 see a grownup admitting its fun 2 play computer games, myself I got into playing an online game called Pirate Galaxy. Its great fun and you get to know other pplz through playing it. 1 warning though,,, its addictive ,,lol,,,
